Could Your Relationship Problems Be Due to (Undiagnosed) ADHD?

Disclaimer: Please note that this is not a medical event

Have you struggled with relationships your entire life and despite your best efforts still don’t understand why things don’t seem to work out?

For many adults, what appeared to be issues with school grades, building friendships, and staying on task as a child can lead to even deeper, more troublesome issues as an adult if left untreated. Many of the people I work with who have gone through divorce, struggled to meet someone they are attracted to, maintain a relationship beyond a couple of years, or break the pattern of conflict in their current relationship aren’t even aware that Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) could be the cause of many of their challenges.

We now know that ADHD is a disorder that continues into adulthood and is also highly inheritable. If you have a child with ADHD, there is an 80% likelihood that you or the other parent have it as well and you probably experience a significant impact on your family and intimate relationship.

October is ADHD awareness month and our speaker, Kelly Brändli is a Dating and Relationship Coach who specializes in helping singles and couples impacted by ADHD improve their love lives. She also brings a wealth of personal experience in this area as the mother of 2 boys and a partner who all have ADHD.
